Now you know, DO NOT hold chicken near your head. you could have just as easily lost and eye and that you would not be able to retrieve.
 
Moral of the story is all girly girls love shiny things. I am glad you got your pearl back and you had your first adventure in farm raised chicken. How was it, BTW???
 
We are definately hooked on free-range chicken! We aged the meat about 48 hours in the fridge per Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens then roasted it in a bag with only olive oil on it. The flavor was awesome, especially the breast meat. The drumstick meat was rather tough, though still flavorful. Perhaps next time we'll age it a little more and use a moist cooking method on the dark meat. Hubby's now asking if we can raise a flock of meat birds.
