I have seen some familiar posts on here about hens walking like penquins. Well my Brown Leghorn has has been doing this for the past year now. She doesnt appear to be in any pain as she does everything just as normal as she has always done. And I'm pretty sure she still lays an occasional egg. My question is...can I fix this problem? And I do not feel like putting her down now as she doesnt appear to be suffering.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

there might be several disorders that cause it..
most often, especially if the hen's laying habits are sporadic..it could be EYP..(Egg Yolk Peritonitis)..
most often caused by internal laying where the egg yolk is absorbed and stored in the body, and builds up over time..
surgery to remove the mass can be an option.

dlhunicorn has a video/pics of surgery on her site..

Does your hen also sit kind of funny, like upright on her butt rather than the usual laying down on the breast? I have one that's been sitting very upright, she has been taking care of babies for a while now and she seems a little tired too.
