I have five Leghorn hens who are almost 6 months old. They produce an average of 4 lovely eggs for us every day. One approaches me and squats with her wings out when I look at her. She also follows me and my boyfriend around the yard until we pick her up, afterwich she scurries off as if that isn't what she wanted. Have I appropriately named her "Friendly" or do I need to worry about her getting the wrong idea? She really isn't my type...

ROFL, that hilarious. Dont worry my hens did it to me as well. It just makes catching them so much easier lol.
I didn't have a roo at the time... a year later I bought a bator and hatching eggs. Now, needless to say I have PLENTY of roos. My frisky hens dont look to me for lovin' anymore. In fact they are often mad at the roo for even attempting to "try" anything with them. If he persists they chase him around the coop pecking him lol.

I agree it's normal. I couldn't help but laugh.

Mine do it too; it freaks me out-I've never seen that before! I keep on looking over my shoulder when I go to pick them up from the neighbor's yard. I don't want him to think I'm beating my chickens!! lol But, they sure do drop down on a dime when they see me coming. It really is handy when you need to grab em' quickly!
