My hen cupcake is making wheezing sounds when she breaths. She is okay other than that and has a small amount of blood above one if her nostrols which i dont think has to do with the wheezing becuase it looks like it was from being pecked. None of the others are doing this only her.

Sometimes she will make a normal chicken sound than a wheez afterwards. She seems healthy and active and is eating at the moment inside.i havent noticed sneezing. This has happend before a few years ago with cupcake or one of my other buffs.

Thank you for your response. I have already put her back outside because I have no where to keep her although i did put her in our shed which most of our chickens go in and dust bath. I put the other chickens back in the coop and put Cupcake in the shed...
I'm not sure if she will go back in the coop or the others will go back in my shed but does this sound like an okay isolation for now?

The others (I'm pretty sure) have already been exposed because before I brought Cupcake inside she sneezed all over some of my hens... :/ :he

If you don't have anywhere better to isolate, I'd try not to worry too much. Something to think about in the future though...a little isolation cage (pet crate or rabbit hutch or something) is always good to have for an emergency! (Look who's talking...I've been meaning to build an isolation cage for months...I should take my own advice!

Hopefully it's just mild irritation and your girl will get better soon! Watch everyone closely and keep us updated :)

Her wheezing was much better last night. there was a little wheeze every once and a while but she seemed much better. I'm going to see how she's doing today, thanks! :)

Her wheezing has completely stoped today and she seems perfectly normal. Thanks for all your help!
