Hen with 2 vents (GRAPHIC PIC) UPDATE!!!!!!

Would there be any way to tell if she is in any discomfort? She seems to strain when she excretes and has plucked her feathers off in that area. She is also significantly small than her sisters. Her poop is normal and so is her appetite. I just do not want for her to be in any pain.

Two vented birds, if you could can you update on the first silkie how she did through out her life?

The new chick would be nice if you could do updates on how she grows and any changes she goes through as she grows. I find this fascinating and wonder if it was from a twin that merged during cellular growth in the egg.

We just discovered that one of our 2 month old American Game chicks has two vents. Not sure what we are going to do with her. . .

My hen that has two vents is now 6 months old and just started laying eggs.
Both of her vents are work, so we have to trim her tail feathers to keep them clean. Every once in a while I soak her bum to help keep it clean. SHe does not seem to be uncomfortable in any way. However, when she lays her eggs, she is unaware when she is doing it. So, her eggs come out wherever she is hanging out. We find them everywhere in the coup and they are usually covered in poop as well. I call her my special needs chicken, and we love her even more since I spend the most time with her. Her name is Penny… and my husband calls her Penny double lane.

I have a two week old RIR chick with two vents and a malformed foot coming from her bum. Definitely a special needs chick but I'll do my best by her. Glad to hear your sweeties were okay.

I have a gosling with two vents. She is swollen and appears to be impacted. She has 3 marble sized knots - one in each vent and one between the two vents. She does not like to be touched in the area. I’ve given Epsom baths, Dawn dishwashing baths, fed peas, eggs... am afraid she will die even though she acts normal at the moment.
