I have a 2-3 year old hen who has a prolapsed vent. I didnt really notice it till the third day, and told my Mom who in turn helped me get it back in. We just massaged around the vent area and it went in by itself. This morning when i checked her, she was covered in white goo again and her vent was prolapsed again. I need help for this poor girl. I currently have the butchering supplies out, because we are butchering meat birds, and my parents just want to cull her. I need some help for her, so if anybody has suggestions, please post them. Will try to get a photo in a bit.

Will try and clean it up.

That's very typical of this condition. It shows she's still working on expelling more material. You may notice that no cecal poop is appearing during this ordeal. That's another sign that there is something still inside her.

I would take my hen into the kitchen sink and use the faucet sprayer to hose off the goo. That makes it quick and easy to clean her and there's no rubbing involved that can inflame the prolapse further.

This morning her vent had prolapse again, so we fixed it yet again
I just went to check on her and found a egg, and her vent prolapse again. Anything I can do?
