hmmm. that's a thought. two old hens that tried to be broody in january are now molting but the rest of the flock isn't. there are 5 hens that are around 3-4 that are good moms and the rest are 07 spring hatch.

I have lots of cayenne so i'll do that today. Crossing fingers, toes, eyes, etc :

* Even with 5o hens, AAH, I doubt you'll to add more than a teaspoon of cayenne to the whole flock's daily feed ration-- and for only a couple days a month, at that. It works pretty fast and furious. But, watch for thinning shells, eh?
