Hen with clogged vent?

Hi!

My Japanese Bantam hen Akira appears to have a clogged vent. There is a rather large cluster of poop stuck to it. I gave her a warm bath, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Sometimes she appears to pull the feces back inside of her, or strain as if laying an egg. Could she possibly be egg bound? I am very worried about her. I don't want to rip off the cluster because I am worried it would hurt her. Please help me!

Try warm water to soften it and take it off.. If she can't clean it well, it's important to help her. You can also try clipping some butt feathers around it to try and get it off.
