Hen with pasty butt sydrome.

Hi all,

I have a 8 months old BO Hen that has a something awful "pasty butt" I have two questions reguarding her.

1. what would cause a full gown hen to have pasty butt? I thought that was a problem more associated the chicks.

2. what is the best way to clean her off? I thought about giving her a bath but first I have no idea how to bathe a
chicken and two would it cause her to get sick with it being so cold outside?
