Hen with possible defective shell gland! What could be future side affects?

I have a buff Orpington hen with a possible defective shell gland, what are future side affects of this? She lays a funky egg just about every day they are lopsided and have calcium deposits on them. The rest of my flock of 21 is ok no defects, im not asking if its a shell gland defect, this is what I have narrowed it down to I know there could be other causes. So what will the future look like? Will she stop laying soon, could she die? Thanks for the help!

How old is she? What are you feeding?

Calcium deposits can be from too much calcium which can happen when they are fed a layer in my experiences.

I am feeding 16% protein layer feed, with oyster shell free choice no other eggs are like this but idk mabey she is somehow more vulnerable to too much calcium?

I personally don't feed a layer. For me and my flock it's too low in protein. I also keep lots of different breeds. Most aren't high egg producers either, so they don't need the daily requirements that a layer contains. I used to feed a layer and I would get more calcium deposits. Once I switched to an All Flock ration with a separate bowl of oyster shells for the calcium needs where hens can self regulate I stopped seeing calcium deposits.

Not every hen needs the same amount of calcium daily. Layer is a one size fits all ration.

Have any of the hens ever had any sneezing symptoms in the past few months? Infectious bronchitis can cause several possible defects in egg shells. Here is a good article with pictures of egg defects:
