Any serious serious birds I would've quarenteened(SP?) but they had already been in and out of the coop and pen but not the run because they like to fly and haven't had a chance to clip them that will come at dark time so the damage was done before I knew it so they are integrated already and actually not many squabbles. The guy told me they were EE's which I already own and love, and LUCKY my only PBR and I was already going to get some later, know what showed up was 2 EE's and old roo(don't know what he is but old) a guinea(which I did know about) and 10 PBR'S!

After surgery pics. she has a lot of extra skin we may have to do plastic surgery next LOL.

texasmama-no she won't ever lay again and that is fine with me. She is doing so well but there is still a lot of recooperating ahead.

Aww - she looks like my Gertie! Good for you and hubby saving that poor hen, and having the bravery of doing the surgery for her! Good luck with her and all of the others that you have saved from a dreadful "life".

It makes me really happy to see that there are people in this world that are willing to go to extremes to save a chickens life.

I once took a chicken with coccidiosis to the vet, because I wanted to do something for her. Her name was Diglett and she was my first chicken

I got teases a lot in school for taking a chicken to the vet. But the vet was awesome, and because of that moment I am now going to school to be a poultry vet. I am still an undergraduate, but I am on my way!

Thank you so much for being amazing chicken parents
