Hen with swollen eye

Can your flock have IB with absolutely no signs? No swollen eyes, no wheezing, weird breathing, nothing, the only thing that is odd at all is some mis-shaped eggs w/ 1 wrinkly egg, that's it, nothing else??

Yes, the symptoms can be what I think is called sub-clinical, meaning that they have the disease without or with very light, unnoticable symptoms.

I found it on Cutler's website, but they said it's not for birds

There are few meds that are listed for birds, it is more cost effective to cull a flock then try to medicate 50,000 birds in a barn. So we have to make do with using meds "off label" or for things other then what they were listed for. The Tylan is both safe and effective from what I have read and from what my vet. has told me.

tylan is a swine and cattle antibiotic, u have to look in that section to find it. any place that sells stuff for swine and cattle should carry it and seringes in the cattle meds section. our tractor supply has it all the time i assume all do.

if u get a higher dose than the 50 let me know cuz i'd have to give u a different dose amount depending on how strong it is. it is not listed as a poultry antibiotic but yes it is safe to use for them, i use it on my flock and our vet is who recommened it to us since the water suluable wasn't stong enough or working fast enough when we needed it.
