Hen with swollen face... bug sting/bite or something else?

Wouldn’t I notice some respiratory problems or discharge with a sinus infection? Honestly asking... would there be any other symptoms that would indicate that?

Not all the time no. depends on how bad it is. An educator can explain it better then I can.

I had a rooster once develop a swollen shut eye suddenly with no other symptoms, no eye bubbles, no sneeze, wheeze, nothing. But I jumped in and gave Tylan 50 injections for 3 days, and it went down in the first 24 hours to 50%, and completely by the third day. Tylan treats MG (mycoplasma.)

well, @Wyorp Rock How come no one has mentioned a sinus infection ? Am I missing something ?
It was suggested in post 11 that MG could be one possibility, but they thought it could have been a bee sting.

There is a possibility that the hen could be rubbing her face on fencing. It doesn’t hurt to explore all possibilities certainly. I have seen huge swollen pussed-filled eyeballs here in threads thought to be coryza, that have turned out to be from a weed seed pod or other foreign bodies.
