Hen without feathers on stomach

If you want to crack open a few eggs and take some good close up photos of them and post them we will give you our opinion on their fertility. You are looking for a small white dot on the surface of the yolk that becomes like a bulls eye when they are fertilised. If you use the search function at the top of the page for blastoderm and blastodisc you should get some threads with images that show what you are looking for.

The hen was with the other chicks, but I changed her to a new position just now. In a seperate room within the same room. The other chicks can't access her now. They were annoying her a bit jumping up in the nest and stuff. It's a fine space for when the eggs hatch aswell. Didn't seem like she accepted the new place just yet though. She went out of the nest and started chopping on the floor "wood". Hope she starts laying on the eggs soon again.

Will keep looking and keep you updated. Thanks.

Edit: It's just 5 eggs under her. It's a dwarf hen so I'll rather wait than potentionally waste a fertile egg. I think.

They are called brood patches. The hen, when broody, pulls the feathers off her breast and stomach area because she know the eggs will be warmer against her actual skin and not just the feathers.
