This morning I found one of our Easter Eggers hunched up on the ground and panting hard (which makes no sense because it's 31 degrees outside right now). When I picked her up, she didn't fight me, offered her food with the rest and she wasn't interested. I put her back down and she wouldn't stand up. We have her isolated in the bathroom right now. Anyone know what's going on? Is she egg-bound? Does she have a respiratory issue-everyone else in the henitentiary are doing fine, happy and eating. Help!

Has she laid lately? Does it feel like she has an egg in her abdomen? Any discharge from her eyes or nose?

We're not entirely sure if she has or not, since we have a rather large flock of 36. We thought she might be egg bound and so with a warm towel wrapped around her, she did give us an egg. She's not panting as much, but sounds like she has asthma. The local animal supply store thought it might be respiratory, so we gave her a little duramyacin in a syringe since she's also not eating and drinking on her own. Her eyes opened this afternoon so we will keep up the meds and cross our fingers and toes.
