Leg mites are pretty obvious, any swelling could be gout. Let us know how she gets along.

I just didn't notice before since she seems otherwise healthy and hadn't shown any behavioral changes until two days ago. Hopefully the treatments we're doing are helpful.

There are 2 types of gout, but the articular gout causes lumpy swelling of the toes and feet. I just include this because you had mentioned swelling of her toes. Here is some reading about it:

Yep! I definitely want to be on the lookout now that I know she's got something going on! Thanks for the info!

We did the warm water, oil, and Vaseline and it seems to be helping. She's still not back to normal, but she's much more active today than she was on Friday. We're going to repeat the process tomorrow. Thanks again for your help. I was so worried it was something neurological and there wasn't anything we'd be able to do to help our sweet friend. We're very relieved!
