So my daughters daycare got these chicks from a hatching program and my husband and I thought it was a great way to get into having our very own flock! We've had them for about a month and I'm still not sure what breed or sex they are! The website says the breeds they use in their program are: Australorp, New Hampshire, Sussex, Black and White Leghorn, and Lohmanns. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Even what age they are would be great!

How cute, I bet the children are loving it!

There are two threads that I found on BYC I can sex you chicks and pullet or hen?

If you can maybe post on there you'll find lots of help from experienced members and newbies testing their skills.

They will also inform you whether or not you may have to post photos again in a few weeks. Different breeds show traits different ages.

Pullets have rounded feathers and cockerals have pointy ones.

You'll also find photos pointing out specific areas of the body will have differences.

Good luck, have fun

I agree, Red Sex Links, and An Austrolorp. Could you post pic in about two weeks for sure gender? If you have had them for a month, then they are approximately four weeks old. Any chicks we've had, I can usually sex them at that age, but probably should wait two weeks just to make sure. They may all be pullets, because I don't see any reddening larger combs.
