Henpecked hen has HOLE in her back-Update

Ooooh- her poor tail looks about like my hen's right after the attack…but sounds like she'll be OK. I hope all the extra posts on the Blu-Kote helped, didn't want to steer you in the wrong direction but share what info I was getting. I'll save the spray for the dog. I decided to toss Chickeepoo's eggs for a week and a half just to be safe, but she herself seems to be on the mend. Best wishes to you and your girls; I wish these birds came with instructions stamped on their butts, so much to learn!

Yes it is quite a learning experience.

That was my next question to you! I wanted to ask if you were tossing the eggs. I don't like throwing away green eggs but figured I would since I have been putting all sorts of medicines on her.

Yeah, I just think it's safer… she can lay more eggs later. On a side note, the hens left out in the coop didn't lay 1 egg today. I smell conspiracy.

Thanks speckledhen. She is doing OK. It took her two tries to get up on the roost and she sits most of the day but hanging in there. I stopped the blu-kote because of controversy on it and just applying neosporin. I did like the blu-kote because it dries it up and it looks better. The neosporin makes it wet looking. But that is OK. I will still apply neosporin and keep giving her TLC. She walked right up to me today and almost asked for me to hold her. It melts my heart these little chickies.
