This is a cute but blurry photo of my rooster Henry's youngest son, from his second batch of kiddos. It's the best one I was able to take.

I'm trying to find him a home and have the boy listed on the proper board on here somewhere, but meanwhile I saw this discussion and thought I'd share his photo. He's smaller than his brother Charlie, who is larger than Henry. Someone lost their rooster today from a dog induced injury, and it reminded me of Henry's rescue from a coyote and how much we love our roosters, and how roosters tend to be unappreciated.

Scruffy will be ours forever should we not find him a good home. Henry's first batch of sons were all adopted and now live with miniature horses and on an organic farm. Henry can be snippy and go after my ankles if the planets aren't in proper alignment, whereas his darling sons only go after each other. It's the usual rooster rumble and tumble, but it doesn't happen often and Henry pushes them off of the hens when they try to mate with them.

Henry is the only Henry baby maker allowed on our property. The boys, though, are sweet and gentle, and finally my husband is opening his heart to the notion of being able to love a rooster. He's terrified of Henry but adores Charlie and Scruffy.

So that's my sharing for the day. I hope it makes someone smile.
