hens and ducks in same coop?

i have a few ducks who are in the 'brooding coop' (think one of those little 2x1ft premade doll houses they make for chickens, such newbie mistake haha) but they are getting a bit big for it now. i have a coop where the other chickens live which should have enough space to house them, but i'm wondering if ducks and chickens will live together ok? they have the same run space and don't seem to fight (except when alpha hen wants the food they are trying to eat). i've got other chicks inside just now but they are starting to tire of the brooder and bringing them outside to play is getting cumbersome.

main reason i want to put them into the coop instead of building separate housing is the coop has an automatic door. electric fence needs rewiring so i don't want them to be vulnerable/having to manually close them each night (makes it difficult to leave more than 24hours). i suppose i could get another auto-door but they are quite pricy.

has anyone had experience with housing chickens and ducks in the same coop? i know they don't perch, but there is plenty of room in bedding on the ground. main problem i could see is the increase in humidity (more ventilation i guess) and scuffles.

thanks for input

I have a free ranged flock with chickens and a handful of ducks. They get along pretty well besides the scuffles for food every now and then. I actually have a chocolate runner that was raised with some chicks and she prefers them to the other ducks lol. I say you try it and see how it goes and go from there.

took about 3-4 days of catching them and putting them in at night before they figured out where the new place to sleep was. i think it helps that there's a chook raised with them since i heard ducks won't usually put themselves to bed. all seems good except for the occasional belly-flop they do in the morning while leaving the coop. ducks are so clumsy...
