So, why do you suppose my hens have started leaving the yard to visit the neighbors? Yesterday, I had to sneak out so they wouldn't follow me when I went over there to play cards. During the second game, however, there they were! My friend said they were just "looking for their momma." Today, she said they were there a couple of times. Another family in the neighborhood has chickens and I see them pecking around on the side of the road, but have never seen them on the road like mine. I also don't remember my grandpa's chickens ever leaving the yard when I was a kid. What's going on with these naughty girls and is there anything I can do to control them, short of installing fences? Kathy P.
