Hens cleaning out nest boxes

Seems like I always have a few pullets that do that right before they start laying. Kind of a sign that a new bird about to start laying. I'm sure not all do but it seems most of mine do this

Makes sense-I've been seeing the barred rocks feathers in the boxes and also, one of my EEs just layed Her first egg today. Both EEs are laying now.

How's this now? Bigger, private and pine shavings instead of straw.
 
Also I should mention, they still pooped in the first two boxes

I washoping by making the front lip taller they would stop perching and pooping. How do I break that habit??
