Depending on how your nest boxes are (mobile or stationary) you could allow yourself more room removing some. It's been said 4 hens per nest box and YES they all like to use the same ones, I have a huge plastic dog house for my nest box & had an extra but they all chose the dog house ... 5 Wyandottes fit as did my 4 Orpingtons ... I prefer doing one breed at a time. Now I have 3 (2WTB & 1 BS) with room to spare.
