I've had 8 ducks in the backyard for over a year. This year, all 6 hens were setting on eggs in various hiding places. One morning we found 2 hens on the lawn, dead, that had been fine the day before. Now we have found 2 hens dead on their nests! The drakes are both alive and the other two hens in hiding, but we do hear them in the morning. Does anyone have an idea of what could be killing them? I have chickens outside the yard and none of those have died. I have LGD's so it hasn't been typical predators and we find no blood on the ducks. I'm baffled!
