Hens hate new rooster

I purchased a new 2yo buff laced polish rooster who did very well at the state fair in Fl. He is very good looking and very nice. I have had him next to my pen of 6 polish hens and one other rooster. The other rooster is scared to death of all other roosters and will hide in the corner at all times. The two of them had not had an encounter yet, and have not been fighitng. Its my hens on the other hand, they seem to want to fight him off. Is this just a pecking order sort of thing and all will get a long? I sure hope so, becuase they will make beautiful babies in the spring

There's always going to be a boss hen and when you introduce a cock bird she's going to try to put him in his place. If he's not too young and has some vitality to him he'll get enough of it after awhile and put her in her place.
