Hens have new homes

Hello,

I have 7 pullets, all about 22 weeks of age and I've had them about a month. I closed off their smaller pen today in favor of a much larger one, with more nesting bays and roosting area. They used the new building all day today as I moved their water and feed.

At roosting time tonight, they went to the smaller house as expected, and I could tell they were a little stressed. They ended up laying down on the ground in front of the smaller house. They are protected from predators.

Will they eventually figure out to use their new house?

Eventually they may. If they have a place in the run to roost they may decide that is the place to sleep. If they haven't in a couple of days you may want to train them to the larger building.

I'd pick them up and put them in the larger building, They are really cratures of habit.
