Hens have poopy butt

So all I need to do is try and soak them and then worm them? Or is there something else too?

If you can find Purina Flock Raiser or have your feed store order it, it is 20% protein and only 1% calcium, almost identical to chick starter, but the crumbles are a little bigger.

Yes, just get them cleaned up, and look for any lice or lice eggs around and under the vent. Poop tends to cling to those. Trim any excess fluff. If hens ahave an enlarged lower belly, it may get in the way when droppings fall.

Soak, clean them up, and OBSERVE first. It may be something as simple as the weather warming up, and they're drinking more water. Pay attention to them. Have a fecal done, and IF they need worming, do it. Don't just worm them needlessly. It does more harm than good, to do it like that.

By the way, if it's about the weather warming up, and they're drinking more water, this will resolve itself, on it's own, shortly.

Call the local vets in your area, and tell them you want a fecal float done on a chicken sample. A fecal float is a test for worms. Many of them will run the test without seeing the chicken. You just scoop some poop in a baggie, and take it to them.

Does it cost a lot of money?
