Hens not laying

Hey guys so my leghorn hens are now 20 weeks old and have yet to lay eggs should I be worried?

Are you sure they aren't laying them and hiding them from you? What are they being fed?

No definitely not some chicken sometimes don’t start laying until a year old

My White Leghorns started laying earlier than my other breeds. They tend to keep laying somewhat more than the others when molting too. It's been hot here and my egg production is down and the birds are starting their yearly molt.

They are being fed layer feed with oyster shell in a separate dish and yes I am sure for I check every where they stay and I have yet to see a single egg from my seven hens.

They may just not be ready. Are you sure they're leghorns? Some breeds take a long time to lay eggs.

Are you positive of their age, did you raise them from day old chicks?
Do you free range or are birds confined to coop and run?

Very, very few breeds, certainly not leghorns.

Leghorns dont lay eggs as offten as other chicken

Leghorns are a high production breed.

Very, very few breeds, certainly not leghorns.

They are free range. I hand raised them and I am positive they are 20 weeks old.

Probably just not ready yet. No worries. Every chicken is different. My first egg came at about 5 months and the last at 11 months. If their waddles are big and red and they squat for you, eggs will be coming any day!
