Hens not using bedding?

While we're building the coop in the shed. The hens are in the garage. So while it's all temporary I've got 3 huge shopping baskets. The type you receive when getting shopping deliveries. Filled them up with adequate bedding and placed them down. Upon going back in to give them some feed and refresh their water for the night I saw THREE of them huddled together tight on top of a hifi. They looked quite comfy but it's gonna do no good when they lay.

Are there any tricks to coax them to use the new set up or is it a case of waiting for them to get used to it being there? Cos it's brand new to them

Chickens roost as high as they can get on a comfortable perch they don't sleep in baskets, they will be fine.
