hens pecking open there eggs & eating them

i guess its been a few months now but my golden comet hens are pecking open there eggs & eating them they hollow out the egg just the shell is left

i have 2 Golden Lacced Wyandotte Hens to idk if there joining in & eating eggs too or not

. but ive definatly seen the comets feasting on eggs. there all 3 or 4 years old now. so there geting pretty old, so im not geting alotta eggs anymore i think i read somewere that once hens start pecking open there eggs & eat them your pretty much screwed now cuz ull never be able to getem to stop pecking them open is that TRUE? there old & i need to just butcher them & get a new young flock of hens but im having a hard time finding ADs in the newspapers & on craigslist for brown egg layn hens for sale around my area
 
I just started having this problem a month ago. My hens are 2 years old so I really don't want to get rid of them and butchering them is not an option for me. I saw someone mentioned putting wooden eggs from the craft store in the nest, it helped a little. I got one egg unpacked on Thurs and Sat. But there were still broken ones too. I researched and found some people who had modified the nesting box so that when the chicken lays an egg, it would roll gently back behind a partition and be safe from pecking beaks. We literally just made the modification this afternoon so I will let you know if it worked and post pictures. We just used some left over wood from making the coop so no expense was incurred there.
