We obtained 8 Golden Comets - 1 rooster and 7 hens - about a week ago, they were laying eggs just before we brought them home but now aren't laying anything. We have a heat lamp inside the coop to help with these frigid nights we've been having and otherwise seem to be adjusting well.

How long should I expect their adjustment time be as they were laying eggs when we got them?

It all depends on the birds themselves. The longest I have had to wait was three and half weeks. With a pullet I bought.its dependant on the birds. But I don't think you will be waiting longer than three weeks. That's on the long side.id say maybe a week or two. They need to adjust to their new home.it could even be sooner! Be patient I'm sure they will begin to lay soon!

Thanks so much, with my daughter has been checking for eggs everyday after school and wasn't sure as to what to tell her when I explain what's going on.

Thanks again
