it's hard for me to get an exact picture of her thigh because under all her feathers you can't really see it but it's about two times the size of the other one, (it's the leg with the pink band)

about a month ago we noticed she couldn't walk as well and now it's at the point where she can't walk at all on it and can't get her balance, and it's very painful for her she sits side ways off of the leg most of the time. she's in high spirits and still likes to eat and drink and talk, I'm at a loss cuz I can't find many other symptoms we're not sure if she dislocated something by jumping off of approach in her house or what but I need some suggestions?

she's a Rhode island white, she's definitely over a year but I have no clue how old she is, she's rescued.

Can you take her to a vet? I would consider culling her since she could be suffering, especially if she has a fracture or dislocated leg. Her vent area looks to be dirty, and flies can lay maggot eggs on that area which can lead to flystike. So I would clean her up with soap and water in a shallow warm bath. If you plan to treat her longer, a chicken sling chair could be made for her, to get her upright and in front of food and water. Here is a good link with pictures and a video of chicken sling chairs, especially post 5, 11, and. 12:

I've talked about bringing her to a vet and from what my parents say I believe we're too low on money to bring her to.

Yes I know about fly strike, I've treated it many times and others animals, she's in the house so it's not too much of a worry, right now our focus was on her leg but I do get what you're saying.

we were thinking about putting her in a chair but we weren't quite sure because her thigh is so swollen I wasn't sure if making a chair for her would just make it worse or not because putting pressure up against that really swollen thigh didn't make much sense to me , but we'll try anything anyway. there any isn't any reason for us to give up on something like this especially when her mood still seems to be fine we aren't going to "put her down" ((is the better way I like to say it haha,)) unless that's our last option and she's super miserable.

I understand. It is hard to kill them if they are eating and drinking and responding to us. But we must consider their quality of life if they appear to not recover from an injury. Upper leg fractures seldom heal in chickens since they are impossible to splint. Tumors in the thigh are also common poultry. Let us know how she gets along, and I hope that she recovers.
