If run is completely secure it is fine to leave door open. But make sure you have no places with holes bigger than 1/2 inch cuz a coon can reach in 1 in poultry wire and kill sleeping chickens.

Very nice, would love to see inside the coop.
What is mesh size on run?
Looks bigger than 1/2" so might want to keep them locked in coop at night.
