Hens won't lay/ stopped laying

I have 4 chicks that I got at 2 days old in April? One hasn't laid an egg at all yet, 2 are 4/5 times per week and the other one lays soft shells 50% of the time. I'm not concerned as they all seem happy and I assume will get with the program in due time. They are not machines.......

His old are they? I have 6 girls and 4 are laying and they are laying everyday. The two older ones are 8 months and 2 of the younger ones are 6 months. None of mine have any noticable molting either. I do have a light out there but that was just added last week

Well you could wait it out and see. A egg can get stuck when it travels down the oviduct to the cloaca/vent. The cloaca closes off the poop until the eggs are laid. They will squat and seem to strain you’ll know if you see it if they are in trouble with a egg. At least you know how to check for that. Keep a eye on them. Just seems a bit odd to lay a couple then stop. I can see why you had questions. Perhaps their timing is done winter is coming. Best wishes

but if they were egg bound wouldn't they be unable to poop? I ask because everyone is very regular in that department :)
Yes, and they would act sick with an odd waddling tail down stance.
Beware jumping to the most terrible conclusion right off the bat.
Checking pelvic points is much less invasive and a good education:

we are giving them crushed oyster shells along with fresh veggies to snack on and mealworms and oatmeal and hard boiled or scrambled egg as the local feed store said it was ok to give that to them as treats
What is their regular ration? A good chicken ration should be 90% of their daily intake.

Knowing their age, if they free range, and your location would help immensely.
Where in this world are you located?
Climate is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, then it's always there!

My hens have completely stopped laying too. I have ten altogether now (4 that are 2yrs old and six that are 4 months old). Water and bedding changed regularly, red light for night put up. No eggs. Help

My hens are 18 months old. They are all molting. We get 0-2 eggs a day. 0 today. Very few in the last month. Last year my 6 month old hens laid pretty well all winter. Not supplemental lighting. I assume they will resume after the winter solstice. I hope they are enjoying the break.
