Hens???????

Ok, now I feel bad, like I'm badmouthing or being negative. If you are like me, you want to hear the good news, and the good news is that you will likely be very happy that you got 'em. :)

Yes, yes, yes. Today I had a message on my phone from animal control stating that some neighbor is complaining that my HENS make too much noise. The message said that they make noise in the morning and sound "distressed" as if a predator were after them (not!).

My babes are happy in the early morning and celebrate (sometimes in unison) the fact that today is a new day and they have eggs to give.

It is unfortunate that some trouble-making good for nothing neighbor who can't find a job and refuses to work has a problem with happy chicks at 7 am!!...I vote to chop off his lousy head~

Yes, hens can make noise!! Albeit, very happy noise!!

That's unfortunate K8tiecat. I have worried about something like that since I got my hens three weeks ago.

I think what is most frustrating is that my hens will get a little noisy when they see a cat in our yard. The fact of the matter is - someone's CAT is in MY yard! No one looks at it that way though.

I hope it works out for you. I can't imagine receiving a note or a call from an authority about my hens. I about passed out last week when I found a letter from our homeowners association on my front steps. Luckily, it was generic, and unrelated to any activity that I might be engaged in (like talking to chickens in my backyard).

As soon as the sun comes up my two roosters and some roosters ten houses down the road from my house cock-a-doodle-do back and fourth to see who is louder and they do this every morning. It does not bother me. I am glad none of my neighbors complained
