Which type of hen are the best to lay extra lg white eggs & that are not mean,
I have 3 mo. Old white leg horn & I have one that tries to flog me every time I come into the coop. Why?

Is it a cockerel? Leghorns are known for extra large white eggs. There are many factors, how did you raise them? try again later with a new batch of leghorns.

If one is trying to flog you, it sounds like it may be a rooster. Does it have a much bigger upright comb? The Leghorn roosters I have had were vile little creatures. I never had any aggressive Leghorn hens, but they would go into panic mode and start flying and flapping their wings to get away when I would walk in the coop. They would calm down and come back to feed or supplemental treats.
I don’t have Leghorns anymore, but did order 3 Black Minorcas this time around to try. They are supposed to be good layers of large white eggs, and supposed to have somewhat of a better disposition.
