herbs from garden....safe for ducks?

A friend from the Netherlands sauteed some fresh small Burdock leaves for me once and they were very tasty. She is the one who told me not to eat them once mature. Do cows eat them? Evidently the root is what most go for.

I'll definitely have to try them. I usually don't remember them until one or another of my girls shows up with burs all mushed into their shaggy, shaggy faces. Now that I have Finn (their beautiful boyfriend who isn't into being brushed), I'll have to be extra careful checking out their paddocks before letting them in.

Is parsley safe for ducks? Mine aren't interested in it (YET!) but my son likes to throw it to them, they're only maybe 2 1/2 months old, I can't KEEP lemon balm!!! They completely destroyed all the lemon balm around their pond!!! And the chocolate mint! I guess it depends on each duck! Mine will eat and any all plants growing around their pond except the buttercup, they've even eaten my squash, kale, and broccoli plants I had sitting near the pond while I got the garden ready. Also is burdock safe?
Oh ya, they are real garden destroyers and to think I first wanted them because I thought they were going to take care of all the bugs/slugs/snails in the garden. That they did but nobody told me I wouldn't have any plants growing either!

I think you gotta have raised beds... of course that kind of puts the slugs out of danger too...

My ducks love parsley. They eat it up like crazy. They also love Roman lettuce, broccoli, carrots, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries. I make them a salad before work and add oatmeal and meal worms. They go crazy over it!

Just tried giving my ducks sweet basil, and they didn't eat it. Nor did the chickens for that matter.
