I know one is a Spalding (written on the egg) and that is the one I had to help out. It had dreadful splayed legs but used a narrow strip of Equiwrap to correct that and a couple of days of treatment
sorted that out

Thanks. Having now read the item on this site about taking photos I think I might have to try a bit harder before I post any other pics. Try sticking them amongst some flowers or something but they are getting livelier by the day so I will have to be careful.

I hatched pea chicks once and they were fun but a LOT of work! Lol. The members on the pea forum were an awesome help! Your pic is good. They will help you along with your journey. My babies really imprinted on me and cried whenever I left the room. It felt like I had a human newborn baby in the house!!

Oh my, so true. Mine cry when I leave their view and if I whistle they know I am still there and are quiet for a minute or two. But soon nothing will help unless I pick them up and hold them. I can only let them out to follow me around when my cats are outside.

Mine chatter amongst themselves a lot of the time. One thing I do wonder about - I started them feeding by putting water and food on my finger and waving it in front of them they now rush over and peck at my finger although they feed from the dish. Will they give this up as they get older or will I have permanently plastered fingers later on?

What happened? Well Ruby I am not sure. All 4 were eating and drinking well, the splayed legs on the one I helped were back to normal then one of them started staying under the brooder when the others were out. I don't know if the others bullied that one because it was out a day later or if there was just something not right with it. I took it out and put it on a heat pad away from the others with a towel over it but it died. Quite a shock because the chickens I have hatched have been OK if they make it out of the shell. These are my first peachicks so I don't know if they are a lot more tricky than chickens.
