Ok its day 19....my humidity has been running at 50% and I can't get my humidity any higher that 57%!! I have a small plate of water and a wet cloth in there but still 57%! Will the chicks hatch ok at this level of humidity or should i try something else? any advice/reassurance would be greatly appreciated :-D

It should ideally be a bit higher than that. Can you squeeze in another bowl of water or are you out of space?

Its getting a little tight in there, but maybe I could swap the cloth for a sponge? The eggs are in paper cup bases with paper towel in the bottom should I dampen the paper towel?

Ok, I'll try another wet rag. There's no pipping yet or chirping....is that normal? Thanks for your advice guys

You won't hear chirping until they pipped internally (into the air sac) a few hours before they pip externally, which should be around day 21. Sometimes they will not make a sound until they're done hatching completely.

Ok. Thanks for your help, would adding hot water help with the humidity?

Ok guys.....update. Added a small amount of hot water and humidity shot right up to 80%! So I lifted the lid for a few seconds, it is now steady at 72%.is this ok or should I lift yhe lid to waft fresh air in? I no its lockdown but the humidity on this machine is pretty difficult (its probably me being dim and not themachine at all!!) This experience has made me realise how amazing broodys are!
