I got 4 Buff Orpington pullets from TSC a few weeks ago. They are doing very well health wise and are super friendly.:celebrate They are in a large, cardboard lined dog crate with a heat lamp right now and I check on them and clean out the waterer 3 times a day. Any tips on raising chicks, specifically BOs?

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

(3) What breeds do you have?

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

:welcome so glad you have joined us.

I love the BO's but they do go broody quite often. They are easy to love and tend, except during those hormonal times :(

You should explore the broody breaking methods for just in case.
I plan on hatching chicks later on in their lives, if I break their brooding habits would it make it harder to hatch?
