Here we go again! Is this a Silver Laced Wyandotte?!

Thanks! I guess I had not thought of the quality issue. I still love my little mixed breed babies!

I was in a discussion about Americaunas and Easter Eggers the other day, and we just tend to believe what the person selling them says. I was told they are Black Australorps. I can clearly see that they are different than a true breed one. I am a little disappointed that I wont have a black beauty but again thats OK! They are still cute

Thanks again for all the help. I will post pics when they get older!

When getting chicks from the hatcheries it is always a gamble on quality. Rarely do you get anything close to show quality but you can get some nice birds. Here is a picture of my australorp I got from McMurray:

She was beautiful. Last year I got some more from Ideal via my local feed store. They did not have any lacing but were killed off by a mink before they matured. I was worried as some people were posting that their australorps from Ideal were growing in lacing on the chest and hackles. I'm not sure what would have been crossed into the birds but you can never be sure unless you get them direct from a breeder.
