Thank God they don't sell chicks at our local Co-op ! I have somewhere to go buy feed without being sucked in to buying more chicks !

TSC is a evil place i went to get Bantams and they didn't come in with the other chickens.
I was told i had to come back the next day

But then i saw DUCKS

and my heart just melted i came home with 7 Cayuga's and 2 Mallards.
Sadly one passed so i went back to replace it and came home with 3 Khaki Campbell's 1 Cayuga and 1 Mallard so now i have 14

I have never had ducks i just don't know what came over me

So true about TSC! Pure evil!

I went in for dog food on Saturday (really - that's all I went in for!) and was sucked in by the "Chick Days" sign. They didn't have any chicks, but the bunnies were there, along with all the chick paraphenalia. I dragged DH back on Sunday "just to look around". I've been back twice since, and finally brought home six babies last night. Two "assorted pullets" ( the guy at TSC said they're white rocks - there wasn't much of an assortment!), and four straight run RIRs.

These are my first chickens. My teenaged daughters think I've lost my mind, but they've taken turns checking on the babies. LOL!

This is a GREAT site - lots of info, lots of friendly folks.

I'll be back!

BTW, our local TSC had TONS of bantam chicks yesterday. Seems like it just depends which day you go, and which store.

I went back to the Evil TSC and i bought 25 Bantams i told the guy behind the register i wasn't coming back.

He just had to remind me i would be needing feed to feed them.

Evil just pure evil and to add insult to injury he told me they will be getting in more next week!
