2 out of 11 of our chickens started laying yesterday! Chunky (the lab) got the first one because they pecked it open....probably wondering what the heck it was. Lol we knew something was going to start soon both hens were huddled in a box and making noises we hadn't heard yet....I suspect its the egg song I hear ya all talk about. What fun!

The egg song sounds something like this: "Bok Bok Bok Bawcaawk Bok Bok Bok Bawcaawk!". Lol. That is the best way I can describe it.

Yep… that's what they sounded like• we got two eggs for two days… I asume the same two chickens… but no eggs today.

Two more eggs today. We are still assuming from the same chickens... however they picked two different boxs. We have one rooster and 11 Rhode Island Red hens we have raised since they were 3 day old chicks they are now 18 weeks old.
