He’s not a pure Bielefelder then. Pure Bielefelder roosters are double barred. No purebred rooster is single barred (the only possibility for an unbarred son). He’s a mixed breed

Sorry for all the replies to this one post lol but there's a "designer" chicken called a scarlet bielefelder being marketed maybe he's one of those Its a rhode island x bielefelder. It would explain a lot! Oh these designer birds make me giggle

I honestly doubt he has any Bielefelder in him. He just looks like a single-barred mixed breed. Someone probably just thought he looked similar to a Bielefelder. I looked up Scarlet Bielefelder and they seem to be exclusive out of Hawaii from a small breeder so I think that term is incredibly specific and probably not the case. Theoretically he could be a Bielefelder mix but there are also other mixes that can look pretty similar and Bielefelders aren’t particularly common
