heritage vs mutt, which is more hardy?

Just a thought that came to mind...

Many heritage breeds are cold hardy, take heat well enough (as long as you give them shade and water), and free range well enough.

Do you think mutt chickens would be more hardy?

Or could you Rhode Islanders or Plymouths (or any breed really become more hardy has the generations pass?

Or would it be the same?

What do you think?

Mutts or a planned cross breeding would normally be stronger and have more vigor because it would be the f1 (first born) from 2 bloodlines that have no connection to one another.

If and when you do breed from the same family try to line breed as opposed to in breeding. Father, daughter mother, son. Not brother, sister. In breeding to me is ok to a point. You will get offspring that will get weaker with each breeding.

And because they're a constant. If you get a purebred, you know what it will pass down fir the most part. Plus people just like them.

Plus background still matters with breeding. Two sickly parents will make a weaker mutt than two healthy heritage would

Mutts are only hardy if you breed that mutt from hardy breeds.
A “mutt” is a very broad term. A cold hardy breed is hardier than your general mutt.
And any mutts your breed together for a long time become more closely related, like a breed.

Definitely not for money. There isn’t money in pure breeds.
Pure breeds keep valuable genetics for future generations. Pure breeds give you a consistent and desirable result.
A crossbreed may have strong vigor but any future generations won’t have the same effect. If you didn’t have two pure breeds bred for the traits you want in the first place, you can’t have a crossbreed. It’s not sustainable to constantly introduce new blood or crossbreed. So pure breeds are the solution.
