Hey,

I was just wondering if adult hens or adult roosters chase off rats, cats etc.

Depends.. Do you have Roo? Otherwise a dominant hen will take over the protector job.. Now the funny thing is that rats will quickly become dinner, doesnt matter hen or roo at that point.. LOL
