I have two young Leghorns. I thought they were a boy and a girl, as one has had a bigger and redder comb and wattles ever since they were a couple of months old. But this week, 'he' started laying! Woohoo! I'm getting these really cute little white eggs from her now. I suppose the other one won't be far behind. I was so sure she was a roo but I guess I was just dummied by those huge funny Leghorn combs. I should have realised they would get bigger combs than I've been used to with all my other chicks. Silly me...

I have a Wyandotte hen who has a rooster-size comb, complete with the "bicycle-helmet" swoop at the rear, and very long wattles. But she's all girl, laying a perfect egg every day. Can't always go by appearances.
