He's slipping into silence. Test results page 8

Her deaf sister was "embarrassing" in school when they grew up.... mother's a miserable souless wretch.

I just found this thread today and I just wanted to say that I will be praying for you and your family. I am so sorry you all have to go through something like this. It is indeed heartbreaking but I can't understand why a person would even begin to think that just because a person has a disability or illness that they don't deserve life. I really feel sorry for the person that said this. Just because your child may not be able to hear does not mean that he can't live a beautiful life and you sound like just the mother to show him exactly how beautiful it can be. May blessings be with you.

ETA: Who knows maybe one of those implant devices are in his future that makes him able to hear again.

Thank you, I just couldn't believe she was talking about her grandchild like this, don't get me wrong if someone else sees something catastrophically fatal on an ultrasound, I completely support whatever choice they make; but we're talking about the lack of hearing, not about a fatal issue that has no cure.

I too can support anyone's decisions that they choose to make in their lives but she sounds like a very selfish person. You just keep your chin up and look to a more positive light. Cherish every single second and make the most of whatever comes your way. Life is a good thing and it is way to short to get down. Just remember that the sun is still shining even on a rainy day you just have to look harder to see beyond the clouds.

He's gotten into the habit of sitting on our laps and asking us to tell him stories. He also wanted to learn how to dance, so that he could use the vibrations of the bass line to help him later.

Saddina, I'm so sorry that you, your son and your family are going through this. I remember reading this thread last month, when I was still quite new to BYC. I've read many threads that you've posted on since then, and it was only today that I realized that this was your thread.

I can only say that Evan is phenomenally lucky to have such a positive person for a mom, and he sounds like a very wise young man. As a mother, the post about him asking you to sing his lullaby broke my heart.

I pray that his testing goes well, and that the doctors can find a way to help your son. I know people say that God doesn't give us more in life than we can handle, but sometimes, it seems like God overestimates our abilities, doesn't it?

Bless you and your family.

Sassina,

I will pray that god have his way in your sons situation and that Evan have a wonderful fruitful life with or without hearing.

My God is able!

God Bless your whole family, Mike
