Hey All

I see the first two and last pics as Easter Eggers, not ameraucana. Especially if you got them from a feed store. The reds are probably red cochins; they have a single comb? The blacks you speak of are Black Jersey Giants if their foot bottoms are yellow. If they're a pinkish gray then they're misidentified and are Austrolorps.

ETA: All are pullets, no cockerels at all.

ETA again: I'd put up some more wire besides that chain link. There are many predators that will go right through it, besides pests like rats and mice. I also have a chain link run around my coop, and while hardware cloth is recommended (nothing will get through it) I put up chicken wire over my chain link. I put up with the fact that I'm feeding mice and chipmunks with my chickens. At least during the day. At night I put all the feed up in a metal trash bin.

Thanks everyone. Would letting them get older help with the ID?

When the wife got home last night she remembers one of the pair we got were listed under Red Jungle Fowl. Could that be #7?

I'm just kinda of a nerd and would love to read more about what birds I actually have. Really disappointed with myself for not taking pictures of the signs so I know what birds I have. I went back this month but the stock numbers were different then what is on the boxes, as they have different types now. I also noticed some of the birds had the same stock numbers. Not sure if anyone is familiar with the numbers, but they are:
11610023 (2)
11610167 (2)
11610123 (2)
1161055 (2)
1161052 (2)
1161032 (2)
1161052 (4)

Pic number 7 looks like an easter egger to me.

Yes, #7 could absolutely be Red Jungle Fowl. :) Her body type is far too slim and refined to be an Easter Egger, in my opinion. Which is why I guessed Phoenix at first. Very exotic-looking..

Bowing to experts. Which is why I don't usually touch the game birds. LOL I don't know enough about them except to say if they're a male or female.

Yes, I plan on adding chicken wire on top of the chain link. I wanted chain link on the bottom because the chicken wire I had on the bottom of the rabbit cage rusted away fairly quickly. I put the chain link about 6 inches or more into the ground so the dogs will not dig under it. I plan on putting chicken wire on top and then maybe folding some of it on top of the ground to also deter digging. Still some work to do on the run/coop. Searching the forums now for chicken water nipple height, and see if there is a better design for the 4 inch pvc feeder.

if you make a PVC feeder, make sure you have a cap for it. An open buffet left out over night will attract pests. Keeping in mind that most rodents will have no problem chewing through PVC.

Yeah, I am a bit worried about that. Thankfully my dogs keep most things away. I am mostly worried about venomous snakes. 2017 I found a cottonmouth under a pile of wood I splitting. I live on property with a cypress swamp on the edge of my property, and an empty lot that has part of an acre lake on its corner. Neighbor across the street came across a nest of pygmy rattlers cleaning out a brush pile. I have heard of chickens killing snakes, but not sure it is just small ones or not.
