Hello,
Fell in love with raising and caring for chickens about 5 years ago. I live in central North Carolina and currently have about 30 various breeds of chickens. Mine free range but I do lock them up at night and if the air activity is really active šŸ¦…! Presently having a bit of a snake problem. Pulled three king snakes out of my coop today two that had swallowed some of my teenagers? I am a snake lover and appreciate the work they do around our homestead keeping g away the copperheads but now they have gone to chicken killing so we ended up relocating them? My coop is very large with three separate house and a large run, way to big to cover with hc, so any other suggestions would be nice

Welcome to BYC.
I'm not sure there is a solution. I have my coops and runs covered in 1/2" hwc, but I leave doors open when the chickens are out during the day. Occasionally a snake gets in and steals eggs. Once I had a snake go after chicks, but my roosters made so much noise that I was able to get there in time.
I have an indoor/outdoor cat who has made a big dent in our snake population. I probably need 3 or 4 more cats.
